After speaking with some of our customers, we realised teachers didn't want their first names known to pupils, so we decided to add the ability for all schools to choose the default email address for users. Simply login to the customer control panel and change the drop-down box to select either firstname.surname @school.town.sch.uk or Mrs/Mr/ Miss/Ms. surname@ school.town.sch.uk.
Pupils can always email teachers using the prefix mr/mrs/miss/ms. The customer control panel provides the ability to change the 'From' address of any emails sent by staff. This is for teachers that would like to email their class and keep their first name hidden.
